Recreate one of the most popular Disney treats at home with this copycat recipe for Pineapple Dole Whips! My first time trying a Dole Whip wasn’t at Disney, but at the Dole Pineapple Factory in Hawaii. I went with my Girl Scout troop in 8th grade and I always remembered the amazing pineapple treat we had, but it wasn’t until having another one as an adult at Disneyland that made me want to figure out how to make them.
Pineapple Dole Whips
Fast forward to a few days ago when I received an email in my inbox from one of my best friends requesting that I quickly (apparently she had a deadline) come up with a little healthier version of the Pineapple Dole Whip that everyone loves at Disney World. Sure thing…it’s been on my to-do list for a really long time.
All the recipes that I came across call for canned pineapple. Why? Why not real, fresh, sweet pineapple?!?! And I took out the sugar and used a little agave nectar instead. It’s healthier and a low glycemix index food. I used my VitaMix to make most of this dessert; however, a BlendTec or food processor would work and an ice cream maker is needed!
Whatever you do….do not ruin the most amazing dessert by using cool whip! The original version at Disney is vegan…so let’s keep it that way. Don’t be tempted by the short cuts….an ice cream maker isn’t too expensive and will make this amazing dessert.
The kids were on top of me begging for their drinks and licking the counter where it spilled a little. I could not keep those little ones away from it. That is the downfall of blogging and making yummy new treats. Those darn kids…they just don’t understand a photo shoot and getting a great picture.

I have never in my life had one of these. Ever…

Does this fit in a 1.5 quart ice cream maker?
Wendy O'Neal says
It sure does!
Judi Shaffer says
I’m allergic to almond milk. What would you suggest as an alternative
Wendy O'Neal says
Hi Judi..you could use any milk. However, I’d stay away from rice milk as it’s just too thin and watery. Pick a thicker milk..soy, regular, coconut, etc. w-

Looks so yummy! I love pineapple

I make this with coconut cream and turbinado sugar (I don’t like agave)
Leigh Anne Borders says
I have never had one of these but have seen them all over the Internet. They must be delicious!
Regina says
Hi,
I have never had one these before and looking at the picture it looks like there are two different parts; the pineapple part and the creamy part on top. Is the recipe posted just for the pineapple part and if so, what is the part on top? is that some type of whip cream? Thanks
Wendy O'Neal says
Hi Regina, It’s just whipping cream from a can on top….nothing special. 🙂 The real Dole Whips at Disney do not have whipped cream, but I really like to add it when I make them at home.

I totally have to try this. We were at Disney for the first time in March and those Dole Whips rocked my world. They are so good. Cannot wait to try your version.
Alexis Coleman says
I feel that this is very easy to make so I will make this pineapple whip. So, yummy and delicious.
Jayme says
The cores are the best part! I think I’m mildly allergic to pineapple, but the cores don’t cause the same problems as the rest of the pineapple. I will be trying this recipe soon!
Stephanie R says
Yum! This looks so good! I like the healthier option! Fresh is always better than canned. Ill have to give this a try this week and see how the kids like it.
Tanna says
I would love to make it for this summer. Thanks so much!
Joy says
They DO have these at Disneyland, at the shack by the Tiki Room. My only real complaint about this clone is that it isn’t dairy-free like the original. (Not that I have a problem with dairy! Just that a real Pineapple Whip has no dairy in it.) Can’t wait to try it. Also, try as a whip float… add a little pineapple juice to your whip. Yum yum!
Scribble Doodle and Draw says
MMMMM these look so yummy! I found you thru the weekly kids co-op thanks for sharing!

I’m pretty sure they have these at Disneyland too, next to the tiki room. 🙂
Wendy says
I love the Tiki Room and Dole Whips are only part of the reason we go sing the birdies sing! LOL
Edna says
I imagine what it tastes like. But I love pineapple so I am sure I will love this.
Janice says
Yum! I love pineapple! I cannot wait to try it.

This sounds great! I always save my cores. I cut them in ice cube size chunks and keep them in a baggie in the freezer for smoothies. Better than ice cubes!
