I love creating something a little extra special for my friends and the adults in my kids’ lives. These cute little homemade Christmas gifts are the perfect as teacher gifts, piano teacher gifts, or coach gifts. Without too much work, these disposable coffee cups become the most adorable holder for a gift card to your local coffee shop. I bought $5 gift cards to Dutch Bros which is the closest (and best) coffee shop to my house and the kids’ schools.
Look for the disposable coffee cups in the paper products aisle and the coffee aisle…I pick Christmas-y looking ones and then choose my colors to match. {See my supply list at the end.}
I threw in a few Hershey’s kisses just to add some bulk to the cup, but you could add some instant Starbucks VIA packets or K-Cups.
Using my Silhouette, I cut out the coffee cup sleeve (or unlatch a sleeve from your favorite coffee shop and trace it onto your paper). I also use the Silhouette to cut out the “Merry Christmas” too. I love my Silhouette, but a Cricut or another laser cutter will work too.
Using regular green and red cardstock, plus a fun sparkly card stock made these sleeves super festive. I added on time red & white twine looped twice to add dimension. The snowmen just completes the look…I picked them up at Target, but any holiday sticker embellishment will work.
Here is the only tricky part and it’s not even that tricky. The drink hole needs to be snipped just a bit to give the candy cane enough room to slide through the hole. It doesn’t need to be super pretty…the cup is the just the “wrapping paper” for the gift which is the gift card…the cup will not be used for drinking.
I used Elmer’s Extra Strength glue to glue everything together. Use a little glue to actually glue the sleeve to the cup so it doesn’t slip off when your kids take them to school for their teachers.
