Kale, it’s a lovely dark leafy green, but it can be hard to get down on it’s own. It takes a lot of chewing and tends to be very fibrous. It’s so good for us that we need to be eating it, so besides baking them into chips, my favorite way is to add it to smoothies. And these 17 Delicious Kale Smoothies are just what I’m talking about.
Like most foods, kale has it’s own holiday…the first Wednesday in October and there are over 50 varieties. Did you know kale needs a frost to become sweeter; the frost converts some of plant’s starch into sugar. {Who knew?}
Kale helps lower cholesterol, helps detox the body, it’s low in calories, helps fight some cancers, aides in digestion, helps with vision, has high amounts of Vitamin K, and it has more iron than beef just to name a few of the benefits. Now get into the kitchen and whip up a huge green smoothie!
