This simple snack of Fruit Kabobs and fruit dip is such a fun and easy summer time (or anytime treat). They are great for snacks, desserts, party appetizers, and more.
I love the simplicity of these fruit kabobs with dip. They are so easy and tasty…no one will ever know that it has only few ingredients.
I originally shared this post in the first couple months of blogging as part of my daughter’s Princess Tea Party. I decided it was about time to give it an update and refresh.
Ingredient notes and substitutions:
- block cream cheese – regular or reduced fat or even dairy free cream cheese works
- marshmallow creme – aka marshmallow fluff
- juice – orange, pineapple, fruit, any flavor you like (then you can change up the dip based on seasons or what fruits you are using, FYI orange juice is my favorite)
- Fruit – grapes, pineapples, red raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, bananas or a combo of any of your favorite fruits
Tools for making this recipe:
- electric mixer (hand mixer works fine)
- wooden skewers
How to Make Fruit Kabobs
Making fruit kabobs couldn’t be any easier. The trick is to cut the fruit into similar sizes. I’ve also found soaking the skewers for 10-15 minutes helps the fruit slide on easier.
I’ve made Patriotic Fruit Kabobs using red, white, and blue fruits. But it would be so pretty to do rainbow fruit kabobs…that just takes a little more planning.
- Soak skewers for 10-15 minutes.
- Wash and cut fruit to similar size.
- Thread fruit onto skewers, leaving a couple inches at the bottom to hold on to. Alternate colors of fruit to make it pretty. Make sure to pierce the fruit in the center so it doesn’t fall off.
- Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge until ready to serve.
How to Make Fruit Dip
This cream cheese fruit dip is so versatile and delicious. I make it with all sorts of different juices depending on what I have on hand. You could also try adding vanilla extract, peanut butter, lemon curd, or even lime or lemon juice.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and marshmallow creme.
- Add juice and beat until smooth.
- Transfer to smaller (serving) bowl and cover with plastic wrap or place in airtight container and place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving with fruit skewers.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
