My kids have been real troopers the last couple years with my crazy new food allergies. It wasn’t just me that was affected, but the whole family and my kids have learned to be really careful around me when eating dairy. I was feeling like they were missing out on some good homestlye mac & cheese (they’ve been making the easy 3 min stuff in a cup), so I decided to get creative and figure out how to make this super easy for me and super tasty for them. I ended up putting my rice cooker to the ultimate test to create this One Pot Macaroni and Cheese dish for the kids.
Hubbyman and both kids gave it two thumbs up each and proceeded to finish off the pot. Should I tell them how easy this was or keep it to myself? I bet I could get at least one of them to do the dishes for me. Hmmm..now that’s a great idea!

I love homemade Macaroni and Cheese, but have tried making it and it has not turned out. I like this recipe because it is made in a rice cooker and looks like it is so delicious and turned out nicely. My sister loves macaroni and cheese and I will have to make it for my family soon.

I’m gonna have to make this! I’ve never tried making macaroni and cheese on the stove before. It looks great! I’m going to use an ice cream scoop the next time I make it. What a great idea!

I don’t have a rice cooker but would a crock pot be a good substitute?
Wendy O'Neal says
It would probably work…the timing might be a bit different though.
Becca from ItsYummi! says
Oh my gosh.. in a rice cooker?! This is brilliant! I only have a microwave rice cooker, so I’m leery to try this. What do you think, Wendy?
Wendy O'Neal says
Hmmmm…not sure about the microwave. I’ve never used a rice cooker in the microwave. You know…I’d probably give it a try though. Let me know if you try it Becca.
