Super fun and spooky Halloween treat that the kids can help make. These Marshmallow Ghosts are frighteningly simple to make.
Just a couple simple ingredients that are probably already in your pantry and you can make these super fun Marshmallow Ghosts for Halloween this year. They will make spooky treats for school, add ghoulish fun to your party, or just make the kids vote you as the “Best Mom Ever” for having these waiting when they get home from school this month.
Of course, this fun halloween dessert is so simple that the kids could probably do them on their own. {Well, maybe just a little microwave supervision because the chocolate does get really hot.}
My kids are making these for their friends and plan to hand them out their school Halloween parties this year. Just place one small ghost in a cellophane bag with a black ribbon, and a little tag and you’ve got the cutest little gift ever.
Marshmallow Ghosts
These chocolate covered marshmallow ghosts are a fun and easy no-bake Halloween treat. Perfect for school Halloween parties!
Ingredients
- 4 cups mini marshmallows (1 bag)
- 14 oz white chocolate chips or candy melts
- 1-2 tbs shortening
- 1 tube black gel frosting
Instructions
- In a large microwave safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips and 1 tbs shortening on high for 30 seconds. Carefully remove from microwave and stir. Continue in microwave in 20 second bursts, stirring in between each burst, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Add a little more shortening as needed to thin chocolate for easy use.
- Let chocolate cool for a couple minutes, but not completely. Lay out sheets of waxed paper on counter top. Add marshmallows to cooling chocolate and mix well to evenly coat marshmallows.
- Drop chocolate covered marshmallows onto wax paper and gently shape into ghosts. Let cool completely.
- Use black gel frosting to add eyes and mouths to ghosts.

What a cute and fun idea for the little ones. It’s so hard to find things for them to help with, and this looks quick and easy to do!
