Meet Kirby the Pug! He’s the sweetest, chunkiest, and most lovable pug ever. He was my birthday present about 3 1/2 years ago…do y’all remember when I asked y’all to help me name him?
Well, yesterday, my family including, Kirby, were invited out to attend an Arizona Diamondbacks game and experience the new PetSmart Patio. PetSmart and the Arizona Diamondbacks have joined forces to create the “first-ever season-long dog-friendly ballpark.” It has some dedicated permanent facilities that include the PetSmart Patio, PetSmart Park, as well as The Adopt Spot by PetSmart which are all part of the Diamonbacks Dog Days of Summer program. The PetSmart Patio is open all 13 Sunday home games during the 2016 season. The 30 dog- suite patio is a family-friendly zone with multi-level seating that is perfect for a family of 4 and their favorite pooch over left field.
We kicked off our adventure with a stop at a PetSmart on the way to the park to pick up some Diamondbacks doggie gear. We grabbed a collar and lead. We skipped the doggie shirt because we opted to get Kirby stenciled with the D-Backs logo for the game. Everyone Kirby walked past at the game commented on how cool he was sportin’ that logo. It was a great deal at only $8 and lasted throughout the game, but easily washed off with soap and water.
-4 human tickets
-1 dog ticket
-All you can eat hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, chips, soda, and water (for the humans), located in the pet area
-All you can eat doggie ice cream bar (for the dog)
-Access to the PetSmart Park (indoor and outdoor areas for the dogs to do their thing and stretch their legs)
-PetSmart Doggie Bag (each dog will receive items like a baseball mitt-themed bed, paw-shaped water bowl, as well as treats and toys)
-Loads of love and attention for your 4-legged friend. Hosts of the area walked around the entire time refilling Kirby’s water bowl, making sure everything was going well, and everyone was so friendly and loved petting all the dogs.
-Private entrance/exit and pretty private bathrooms for the area (aka…no lines. NO LINES!)
We {I mean Kirby} had so much fun at the game. The view from the seats was great. The chairs were way more comfortable than sitting in the stands. And I loved not having to fight the crowds to get to our seats or to get some food. The kids were able to get in and out of our suite without any issue and could grab their own food whenever they wanted.
This really was such a fun and unique way to experience the ball game. The kids made a ton of new memories!
About half way through the game Kirby finally was able to get some much needed rest. Seriously…who wouldn’t love that face!!!
While I was unable to visit the Adopt Spot by PetSmart at yesterday’s game, it’s a great way for D-backs fans to expand their families through adoption. Newly adopted dogs at The Adopt Spot will receive a free D-backs-branded leash, as well as the PetSmart Adoption Kit, which includes a free one-time service for training, veterinarian, and Doggie Day Camp for socialization. Plus you’ll get a coupon for a free bag of dog food and additional discount offers on everything a new pet parent needs including beds, bowls, collars and leashes ($400 total value). This is the first season-long pet adoption program at an MLB stadium. PetSmart has teamed up with three Phoenix-based animal welfare organizations – Arizona Humane Society, Arizona Animal Welfare League and HALO Animal Rescue.
Side Note: We love HALO Animal Rescue….we adopted our little Zeus from them about 5 1/2 years ago. They were awesome.
Okay…I can’t show 2 of my 3 pups and not show y’all sweet Lily Pie! We took her in after her owners (some friends of ours) could no longer care for her.
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of PetSmart. The opinions and text are all mine.
