As you’ve probably figured out, I’m my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop Leader. Well, I decided it was time to teach the Daisies about GORP! GORP = Good Ol’ Raisins and Peanuts. It’s usually made with raisins, peanuts, and m & m’s, but really you can do whatever you’d like. There is a catch though…it needs to be 2/3rds healthy and 1/3 fun! GORP really is just a trail mix and is meant to provide you with nourishment and energy during a hike. Everyone loved this version, so I thought I would pass it along.
Homemade GORP
you will need equal parts of:
raisins
pepitas (raw, shelled pumpkin)
chocolate chips
diced, dried pineapple
plain or honey granola
mini caramel bites (found them near the choc chips @ Wal-Mart)
2 parts mixed nuts, salted
1/2 a part shredded, sweetened coconut
Put everything in a large bowl and mix well to combine. Store in a zip-top baggie for up to 2 weeks, but mine never last that long.

This looks like a twist on puppy chow (not real puppy chow). It’s what my daughter calls it. She uses chex, peanut butter and powdered sugar. I thought that was sinfully Delish but YOUR post beats that.
I hope you don’t mind if I repost on my blog!
Thanks for sharing!

I’m a snacker. I can snack all day….and have snacked all day…now I’m dieting (started yesterday). This looks like a healthier snack choice. I’ll have to mix up a batch! Thanks for sharing!
btw, I voted for your cupcake today. I also shared the link on my personal facebook account and on my Twitter account! Good luck!

Why need to go buy some? I love the addition of dried pineapple. Need to have this on hand at home.
