Lasagna in the Slow Cooker
I love, love, love lasagna. But I hate how long it takes to make it, especially on our busy weeknights. A couple days ago, I was really craving lasagna, but I didn’t have the time and I didn’t have all the ingredients either. No time to hit the store, so I started rummaging around the pantry and freezer and this is what I came up with. I found a couple packages of frozen cheese raviolis, a jar of spaghetti sauce, and a package of shredded mozzarella. That’s pretty much what’s in lasagna, right?!?!
Not only is it an easy supper, it only took about 3-4 hours in the slow cooker, it is the perfect Sunday lunch. Put it in before church and it will be ready when you get home. I do this often and because it only takes 5 minutes or so to throw together it really is the perfect lunch for after church….even when the morning is hectic I still have time to throw this together in my slow cooker.
I had planned on having this for lunches the following day, but my family ate the entire pot. Apparently it was a huge hit! This really isn’t lasagna, but it tastes like it. And the recipe is more of a guideline…you can adapt it easily to fit your family’s preferences. Use any type of ravioli that you like…meat, seafood, cheese and use your favorite jarred sauce or your homemade marinara sauce…really the sky’s the limit here.

How to Make Lasagna in the Slow Cooker
Easy Weeknight Lasagna in a Slow Cooker
Only 3 ingredients and a few hours and this hot Easy Weeknight Lasagna in the Slow Cooker will be your new favorite go-to meal on busy nights!
Ingredients
- 1-2 pkgs ravioli (depends on size of raviolis)
- 16 oz jar spaghetti sauce
- 2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Spray a 5-6 qt slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
- Spoon a little sauce to cover the bottom lightly. Add layers of ravioli, sauce, and cheese. Repeat layers until slow cooker is about 3/4 of the way full.
- Turn on low and cook for 3-4 hours.
Notes
- I freeze the ravioli when I bring it home from the store, so the cooking time listed is for frozen ravioli. You can pick whatever flavor ravioli your family likes (cheese, mushroom, meat, lobster, etc). And the same for your spaghetti sauce. I make my own sauce, but you can certainly use any store bought sauce that you like (garlic, meat, marinara, etc).

I was wondering approximately how much ravioli you use about (in oz.)
Wendy O'Neal says
Hi Riley, it really just depends on how full I want my slow cooker. When making for just my family of 4, I use the 20oz Buitoni Four Cheese Ravioli Pasta. It’s a bit more than we need, but I love the leftovers for lunch. w-
Sonia says
Is the ravioli pre cooked? Or dry?
Wendy O'Neal says
Hi Sonia, this recipe uses fresh pasta. The kind found in the fridge case in the grocery store. It’s not cooked. I don’t think dry pasta will work. w-

I don’t think it gets much easier than this! Love that you use ravioli.
Tara says
So simple, I love it! Still delicious but cuts all the stress out of lasagna, thanks for sharing!

This recipe was outstanding! Restaurant quality and by far the easiest recipe I have ever followed. Couldn’t decide between cheese ravioli and spinach, so I used both. I don’t like pasta sauce, but most of it cooked off and it didn’t give me reflux. I planned to make this for my family and I was going to eat a salad, but this was so good for all of us. A+

Genius! I never even thought to make lasagna in the slow cooker! Your recipe was delicious and is now in my weeknight meal rotation!
Crystal Lopez says
This recipe is simply brilliant! I love the easiness of crockpot meal and this requires no babysitting! Adding it to my meal plan!
Chelsea says
Are your raviolis already cooked before you freeze them? The only kind I could find was CoraBella 8 oz, so I just want to make sure if I needed to freeze them in the package or cook then freeze them.
Wendy O'Neal says
Hi Chelsea, I’ve used both frozen and the fresh pasta before….you will just cook a little longer if you use frozen.
Jennifer Grant says
Can you use lasagna noodles instead of ravioli?
Wendy O'Neal says
I haven’t tried with lasagna noodles because the raviolis already have the cheese filling so it makes this really fast to throw together. My guess is if you use dried noodles that you’ll need additional liquid.

Made this last night! Big hit in my house full of boys! I added beef seasoned with Italian seasoning and garlic. Was very good! Will def be making this again! Maybe add a bit more sauce and bit more cheese! Thanks for a great recipe keeper!
Robbie Baggett says
Thanks for putting this in a slow cooker. I make this but I add beef to mine. I also make it with Alfredo sauce and chicken too. Just never thought of putting it in the slow cooker!!
Rebecca says
This recipe came out ok but it wasn’t anything I would make again. I put it on low for 3 hours and yet the frozen ravioli still came out overcooked, the shredded cheese didn’t get hot enough to melt and it definitely needed some seasoning because it was a little bland.
Wendy O'Neal says
Oh no…I’m sorry it work out well for you.

I love it! You could adapt it to anything. Slow cookers really are an amazing invention. The fact that you can just throw it all in and walk away and it will whip you up a delicious meal is fantastic.
