Homegating (aka watching the game at home with a bunch of friends) is so much more fun when you aren’t stuck in the kitchen cooking.
I prep and cook the day before for a lot of things, but these Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches are ready in about 5 hours with very little effort and they are delicious! So they are the perfect dish to prepare for game day! I usually have a few too many, but so does everyone else.
They are a little spicy, a little tangy, but cool and creamy too. The fresh green onion gives them just the right hint of freshness too. {Side note: to make them less spicy add more ranch dressing to the slow cooker after the chicken is shredded.}
Homegating Party Tips
Small touches like colored napkins in your team’s colors go a long way.
Pick up one of the NFL/NCAA Crock-Pot® Slow Cookers (or HERE) to show your support for your favorite team.
Have lots of easy recipes planned and cooking before guests arrive. Or cook the day before and reheat for the party.
Slow Cooker Cooking Tips
Always spray your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a liner for easy clean up.
Keep the lid closed. Every time you open to stir or take a peek you add an additional 15 minutes to the cooking time.
Cooking on low takes about twice as long as cooking on high.
Don’t overcrowd your slow cooker; it should only be 1/2 to 2/3 full.
Use more than one Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker. I usually have 3 or 4 going for big parties. Check out some of my other slow cooker recipes.
