Last weekend, we took my in-laws out for a day in Scottsdale, Arizona. The weather here is beautiful 9 months of the year and perfect for al fresco dining and playing outdoors. Scottsdale has so much to offer for visitors and locals that I’m super excited to be partnering with Experience Scottsdale, the official travel site for Scottsdale, AZ, for the next 5 months to bring you some of my favorite places to eat and play! Scottsdale restaurants are fun and exciting. There are over 600 restaurants in Scottsdale and plenty of acclaimed chefs too. It’s the perfect place for a foodie to visit!
Hubbyman and I used to visit Carlsbad Tavern all the time before we had kids. We thought the kids and in-laws would enjoy the fun atmosphere of this bat cave-inspired bar.
Food is made fresh…the chips, salsa, and guacamole are made fresh daily in the restaurant. We are total chips & salsa snobs and we love theirs…full of fresh flavors with a little kick.
When your taste buds are craving something with a little kick, stop by this cozy spot for a touch of New-Mexican Grub. You’ll find a cave-like atmosphere inside and great patio dining outside, with heaters in the winter and misters in the summer.
The staff and chef were very helpful and figuring out a gluten free/dairy free meal for me to eat. And it was amazing!
After a wonderful meal, we headed over a few miles to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. This park is perfect for all ages…everyone from my 4yo to my father-in-law love visiting the park. There are playgrounds, rides, train cars to walk through, a huge model railroad display, and a museum. And don’t forget the ice cream shop!
Whether you are visiting Scottsdale for long vacation, weekend getaway, or even live near by there are plenty of great family friendly places to visit for a fun day!
