A couple weekends ago, I took my family out for a fun at the Butterfly Wonderland and then to lunch at Dickey’s BBQ with some awesome friends in Scottsdale, AZ. I’ve had fun these last few months working with Experience Scottsdale to tour around the city and find a bunch of cool new places. There really is so much to do and try in Scottsdale. These are two of my favorite places for Family Fun in Scottsdale.
The Butterfly Wonderland is located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. You can see it right off the 202 freeway, so it’s super easy to get to. It’s open everyday from 9am-5pm and will probably take you 2 hours or so to experience it all. It’s not going to take up your whole day, but enough time to have a nice outing with family, friends, out of town company, or even a playgroup. Wear bright colors…the butterflies will love it!
After a long morning checking out the butterflies, we headed over a few miles to Dickey’s BBQ. There are several locations in Scottsdale and one was only a couple miles from where we were. The BBQ is delicious and the service is fast…plus there is free ice cream with every meal! Yep, free ice cream. AND…kid’s eat free on Sundays!
Have you been to Scottsdale? There is so much to do that I could never share it all with you. We often do little staycations in the summer at some of their resorts because we can take advantage of all the wonderful activities and places to visit while staying close to home. Our favorite family friendly resorts are the Westin Kierland and the Fairmont Princess, both in Scottsdale.
