The perfect dessert for fall….these Fudgy Pumpkin Brownies are perfectly chocolate and full of pumpkin flavor! Plus they are gluten and dairy free! They are ooey, gooey fudgy and delicious!
It’s still in the 90’s here, but that doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about all the wonderful fall weather and activities that the rest of the country is enjoying. We were lucky last week to be able to enjoy a family camping trip up in Northern Arizona with cooler {more fall-like} temperatures. It really did the trick and got us in the mood for chili, pumpkins, cozy blankets, and sweaters!
In all honestly, I thought I came up with this brilliant idea until after I made these and then saw something similar on pinterest…urgh! Apparently, they’ve been done before. LOL! I should have figured.
On a side note: if you aren’t gluten free or vegan then just use regular brownies and cream cheese…they will work beautifully.
My pumpkin brownies are more fudgy than cake-like. Which is totally awesome because these babies are scrumptious! I’ve been fighting my kids and hubby for the pan all weekend.

Fudgy Pumpkin Brownies {Gluten Free & Vegan}
Gluten free and vegan brownies made with real pumpkin puree. These fudgy brownies are the perfect treat for fall!
Ingredients
- gluten free brownie mix , or my homemade gluten free brownies recipe *link in notes*
- 4 oz Tofutti better than Cream Cheese
- 1/2 cup homemade roasted pumpkin or canned pumpkin
- 1 serving egg replacer, prepared
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsps pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F and prepare an 8x8 pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Prepare brownie mix or recipe as directed (make it vegan if you prefer). In a seperate bowl, combine cream cheese, pumpkin, egg replacer, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix well.
- Pour about 3/4 brownie batter into prepared pan. Top with pumpkin mixture. Drop remaining brownie mix by the spoonful onto pumpkin mix. Using a butter knife, gently swirl the mix together.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes or until brownies are fully set.

Disclaimer: I received Glutino Brownie mix and Tofutti coupons to try their products, but I was under no obligation to write about them…However, I truly love them so I wanted to share them with you!
I think I will make these for my son! Going to pin it now!
If the brownie calls for eggs and butter and I want to make it vegan-do I make the box mix with the egg replacer and then add the egg replacer listed in the recipe to the pumpkin mix?
Yes, you would add the egg replacer in the mix at the same time as their instructions say to add the eggs. And then just continue to follow the rest of my instructions. 🙂
I’m definitely making this for the Halloween party tonight! Is it possible if I can replace the egg-replacer with applesauce? And how much? Thank you!
Hi Paige,
I haven’t made this exact recipe using applesauce as a replacer, but I know in general you can substitute applesauce for egg in many recipes. Here is a little guide I wrote about using egg substitutes in different recipes.

I eat mostly vegan, except for eggs. Can I replace the egg substitute with 1 egg? Would that work out alright?
This looks delicious & I’m going to pin it. Thanx for sharing!
How can I keep these vegan using the Glutino brownie mix directions since it requires eggs? Did you use egg replacer if so, did it work? The brownie mix box says not to use egg replacer.
I always use an egg replacer since I’m allergic to eggs in addition to wheat and dairy. I’ve had decent results using an egg replacer in my brownies. Every once in while I have issues, but most of the time it works great.
Do these have to be refrigerated?
I didn’t keep them in the fridge. Enjoy.
I have a feeling that I’ll be making these for my brother’s girlfriend soon!
