As you know, I’m gluten, dairy, and egg free and it makes dining out quite interesting. There are very few places that have more than one option for me to eat when we dine out. I’ve gotten used to it, but it’s also pretty depressing when we go to a big named restaurant and there is absolutely nothing on their menu that I can except an iceberg lettuce salad with oil and vinegar. It’s pretty depressing, but I have found new places to try and have new favorite places to eat. I’ve found two really awesome gluten free restaurants in Scottsdale, AZ.
My best friend took me to Picazzo’s Organic Italian Kitchen a year or so ago and I had been craving it for a while so I decided it was time to take the rest of my family. Imagine my surprise when I learned that they not only serve, but specialize in gluten free meals and even offer dairy free options for their pizza. The gluten free pizza dough is made in their kitchen daily and the only ranch dressing they serve is a dairy free variety. It’s been a long LONG time since I was able to dip my pizza crust in some ranch dressing and not have to worry.
On the way home, I thought it would be fun to hit up a gluten free bakery and pick up some goodies. I had read that they had gluten free vegan baked goods, breakfasts, and more. How could I pass it up!?!? Gluten Free Creations is a 100% gluten free kitchen….meaning no wheat products enter the store at all. I think I went a little over board while I was there and spent like $100 on treats that I hadn’t had in a really long time like cupcakes, bagels, cake, dinner rolls, and more.
Whether you live in the area or just passing through, stop by Scottsdale and try some of their amazing gluten free restaurants and bakeries. Even the wheat eaters in your family will love them! Promise!
