I love making green smoothies for myself and the kids. It’s such a great way to get in a ton of nutrition in a quick and easy meal or snack. Or in the case of some kids…sneak in some extra things to make sure they are getting loads of goodness in their smoothies. My kids are already used to the fact that I put veggies in their smoothies, so they actually happily make this drink on their own and then drink it. It really is a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen.
I used make this without the yogurt, but Whitewave sent me the new Silk® Almond Dairy-Free Yogurts to try and I just knew they would be a great addition to this smoothie….or any smoothie for that matter. Since I can’t have dairy, I’m always on the hunt for a great yogurt alternative. I used the plain in this recipe, but the dark chocolate coconut…that’s my new favorite. It’s like eating dessert.
There are 5 delicious flavors of the new Silk® Almond Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative including: plain, vanilla, strawberry, peach and {my favorite} dark chocolate coconut. Each have between 5-6 grams of protein from almond butter and have a smooth, creamy texture. Add them to a smoothie, add some granola and fresh fruit, or just eat it straight from the container…I bet you’ll love them as much as I do.

The yogurt really does make it better- and adds so much protein!
