Need a delicious appetizer? My keto Beer Cheese will be the talk of the party, but without all those pesky carbs. Just a few simple ingredients and 30 minutes is all you need.
Keto Beer Cheese Dip
I’m always trying to come up with creative appetizers or potluck recipes that everyone will love, but that I know I can eat. No one even knew this beer cheese was actually made with a low carb beer. Best part is I was able to stick with my keto lifestyle and still enjoy the party.
My keto beer cheese dip is made without flour. You probably already have everything in your fridge and pantry (except maybe the beer) to make this low carb appetizer.
Ingredients for this recipe:
- low carb beer
- heavy whipping cream
- shredded cheddar cheese
- dijon mustard
- cayenne pepper
- chili powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- chopped green onions
How to make Keto Beer Cheese
This dip couldn’t be easier! Add all the ingredients to a big pot except the heavy cream and cheese. Let simmer for 10 minutes before adding the cream and cheese. Stir and serve hot. It’s perfect to whip up a batch at a moments notice.
What beers are keto friendly?
There are lots of low carb beers available on the market. A few that should be available nationwide are Miller 64 Extra Light Lager (2.4 carbs), Michelob Ultra (2.6 carbs), or Four Peaks Brut IPA (5 carbs). Feel free to use your favorite low carb beer. Of course the type of beer you use will change the flavor of the cheese dip.
What goes with keto beer cheese dip?
I love to serve this dip with keto pretzel bites, pork rinds, and carrots/celery.
Can you make beer cheese dip ahead of time?
You can totally make this dip ahead of time. It can be kept warm for a couple hours, but my favorite is to make it a day or so in advance, store in a airtight container in the refrigerator, and then reheat when needed. It’s not freezer friendly, so best bet is to store in the fridge until needed.
Can you reheat beer cheese dip?
Yes, absolutely! Just add a little additional heavy cream when reheating to get it smooth and creamy.
Make it Your Own!
Feel free to get creative and play with the flavors. Try different low carb beers, different cheeses or combinations of cheeses. Cook it over a campfire or smoker for a smokey beer cheese. Use a slow cooker to make a big batch and keep it warm for a party. Or try a cast iron pan. Also try adding in some of these:
- cream cheese
- ranch
- velveeta
- crumbled bacon
- cooked sausage
