I’m kicking off a week of delicious lemon recipes with the most amazing Lemon Drop Martini that you’ve ever had. Plus, you won’t believe how easy it is.
I have a tree full of the most amazing fresh lemons and I knew making a lemon drop was the perfect way to kick off my lemon fest this month at our house. I didn’t have simple syrup and didn’t want to wait to make it and let it cool, so I made this without a simple syrup and it worked beautifully! The fresh tart lemon with sweet mixture of vodka and sugar really takes this drink to the next level. (If you lemons are extra tart, add more sugar.)
Use your favorite vodka, but I used a gluten free version because I wanted to enjoy one of these drinks myself. A couple of my favorite gluten free vodkas are Smirnoff (corn based) and Chopin (pick the black cap/lettering…it’s potato based).
I also made my own colored sugar to match, but really you could use plain sugar. For a party, I’d highly recommend you make some yellow sugar to rim your glasses..it’s so easy and really makes this drink special.
