Celebrate summer with a delicious White Chocolate Fudge. The festive Red, White, & Blue Fudge has only a couple ingredients and takes less than 5 minutes.
Red White & Blue Fudge
We have several potluck parties to go to this weekend, so I figured why not make up a few batches of this white chocolate fudge and turn it into a festive Patriotic Fudge. It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.
This easy fudge is only 2 ingredients, until you add the dyes and the sprinkles. Of course, they are totally optional and can be subbed to match any holiday theme. Red and Green for Christmas. Orange and Black for Halloween. You get the idea!
The hardest part of making fudge a few days before the parties is that there is a very high chance it will be eaten by little mouths beforehand. I have to hide it in the way back of the fridge, so I {um..I mean the kids} don’t eat it all.
I used dairy free white chocolate chips and they work great. Of course, if you aren’t dairy free, just use regular white chocolate chips.
How to Dye White Chocolate Red
White Chocolate can be finicky! It seizes so much easier than any other chocolate that I’ve worked with and I’ve ruined my fair share of white chocolate. I’ve learned that the easiest way to dye white chocolate red (or any other color for that matter) is to use a good quality gel color. What ever you do…do not use a liquid.
Turning the whole bag of white chocolate a pretty deep red will take a lot more color than you think. My trick is to use a dark pink gel first and once that’s mixed in start adding red. However, just dying a tiny bowl (like for this recipe), then skip the pink and add the red. Work quickly, but be prepared to use more dye than you think you’ll need.
Red White and Blue Fudge
Celebrate summer with a delicious White Chocolate Fudge. The festive Red, White, & Blue Fudge has only a couple ingredients and takes less than 5 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 container ready made Vanilla frosting
- 1 12 oz bag of white chocolate chips (I used 1 1/2 bags of dairy free white chocolate chips ∞http://amzn.to/29cNARQ)
- red gel dye
- blue gel dye
- red, white, and blue sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare an 8"x8" baking pan by lining it with foil, leaving some hanging over the edge. Set aside.
- Place white chocolate chips in a heat proof bowl and set aside. Place container of frosting in the microwave, heat for 20 to 30 seconds until it is hot and completely melted. Once the frosting is melted pour over the chocolate and let the heat from the frosting melt the chocolate. Stir until all chocolate is melted and smooth. Place 1/4 of the melted chocolate in a separate bowl and tint it red. Place another 1/4 of melted chocolate in a 3rd bowl and tint it blue.
- Drop colors by the spoonfuls into prepared pan until all the chocolate has been added. Work quickly as it will set up as it cools. Once all the chocolate is added, use a butter knife to gently swirl the colors. Top with sprinkles. Place in the refrigerator to set up then cut into one inch squares.
- Enjoy! Makes 64 one inch pieces of fudge.

As I’m french, I would need to find a blue dye a bit darker to match our flag 🙂 Your recipe looks great and seems very quick to reproduce!

Emma….just add more color. I only used a couple drops, so you could totally just keep adding a couple drops at a time until you reach the right color. w-

I saw this listed on another blog and remarked that it was one of the first ones my stomach was drawn to. I can’t believe it’s so easy and goof-proof.
