I love surprising Hubby with a special dessert just for the two of us after the kids are in bed. Surprise your sweetie with this easy S’Mores Mug Cake.
Oh my goodness, y’all! Y’all will not believe how stinking easy this is to make. Promise me you will make this and share with your sweetie and not hide out in your bedroom with a good movie and this giant mug cake all alone. Trust me….it could happen!
I used my basic 1-Minute Dixie Cup Cakes, but turned it into a special dessert {meant to be shared}. The good news is that it works for both traditional cake mixes AND gluten free cake mixes (see my note in the recipe for details). I just love how easy it is to make a quick warm dessert in the microwave without a lot of fuss.
S'Mores Mug Cake
I love surprising Hubby with a special dessert just for the two of us after the kids are in bed. Surprise your sweetie with this easy S'Mores Mug Cake.
Ingredients
- graham cracker crumbs*
- 1 jar marshmallow fluff
- 3/4 cup chocolate cake mix (regular or gluten free)
- 1/3 cup water
- 22 oz coffee mug (or 2 smaller mugs)
Instructions
- In a 22 oz coffee mug, add a 1-inch layer of graham cracker crumbs and lightly press into place. Then add a 1-inch layer of marshmallow fluff and spread to fill whole area. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine cake mix and water. Gently pour over the marshmallow fluff layer in coffee mug.
- Microwave mug on high for 1 minute and 10 seconds. If cake looks too moist still, pop back in for another 10 seconds (although it is totally okay for it to have a few moist looking spots).
- Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder for an extra special treat.
Notes
- ** Gluten Free Note: I made this with a Betty Crocker GF cake mix and it worked perfectly. I also broke up a Midel GF graham cracker pie crust to get some GF graham cracker crumbs. It worked!
